Kindergarten Screening

On May 25th, current Sheldon preschool students who will be five by September 1st are encouraged to attend Kindergarten Screening at the school from 12pm to 1pm. Students will be playing and interacting with the kindergarten teachers during this time. It allows the kindergarten team (which includes me) to get to know the incoming students and make observations about their interactions with peers. During this time, parents will be attending a parent-information session with the school principal, Christie Martin. Please let me know if you plan to attend or not, and if you have any questions.

Field Trip

Join us for our end of the year field trip to Shelburne Farms on Thursday, May 31st! It will be a day filled with tractor rides, baby animals, outdoor education and a picnic! Buses will leave Sheldon School promptly at 8:15am. Students and their chaperone will have an opportunity to explore the farm and meet the animals. Everyone is invited to join us on our scheduled tractor ride at 9:30am. Our trip will conclude with a group picnic on the green at 11:30am with all preschool students, teachers, and family members. We will be leaving Shelburne Farms by 12:30pm, so we can get back to school by 1:30pm. Permission slips went home with students this week and need to be returned by May 18th.

End of Year Lunch

Families are welcome to join us on Wednesday, June 6th from 11:30am to 12:30pm for an end of the year celebratory picnic lunch. Lunch will be pot-luck style and when it gets closer, I will be asking families to sign up to bring a dish (if they choose to). Weather permitting, we will be eating outside of our classroom picnic-style and if it rains we will be in our classroom. Stay tuned for more information.
